The YMCA University of Science and Technology, Faridabad, erstwhile, 'YMCA Institute of Engineering, Faridabad' was established in the year 1969, as a joint venture of the National Council Of YMCAs of India, Govt of Haryana and the Central Agencies for Development Aid, Bonn, Germany. It started as an Indo-German project with an aim to impart Technical Education to a developing India on German pattern.
The Institute has been granted University status since 1st Dec., 2009. (Established by Haryana State Legislative Act No. 21 of 2009 & Recognized by UGC Act 1956 u/s 22 to Confer Degrees)
The University offers 4-year B.Tech. degree course in six disciplines i.e Information Technology, Computers, Electronics-Communication, Electronics-Instrumentation Control, Mechanical & Electrical.
The University also offers Post Graduate courses viz. M.Tech. (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Computers/ IT), MBA, MCA and Ph.D.
Faculty of Engineering and Technology consist of Department of Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
Faculty of management studies was started in the year 2008 with course of MBA having specializations in IT, Operations and Power Management.
Faculty of Humanities and Sciences has been specifically created for studies of pure sciences. The department also conducts post graduate courses viz. M.Sc. (Maths) and M.Sc. (Physics).
